We met today to continue to discuss our learning enquiry. First we watched an iris recording of a lesson in which Nicola broke down one success criteria, into three manageable steps. This was really beneficial as we got to see how Nicola’s practise focused primarily on her focus five children, enabling them to access the success criteria. After we decided upon some actions going forward. We are going trial using a “success ladder”.

Having researched the success criteria directly with year 4, we noticed that the children were unable to explain what a success criteria was and its purpose in a lesson. We have therefore decided to change the success criteria to a success ladder that the children can relate to much more easily. We look forward to trying this out and reviewing the outcomes of the focus fives’ writing.
